About Tulip Mania Trading Cards
Originally growing wild in the valleys of the Tian Shan Mountains, tulips were cultivated in Constantinople as early as 1055. While tulips had probably been cultivated in Persia from the tenth century, they did not come to the attention of the West until the sixteenth century, when Western diplomats to the Ottoman court observed and reported on them. They were rapidly introduced into Europe and became a frenzied commodity during the tulip mania.
NFTs are often accused of being a bubble like the Tulip Mania, but the key difference between the Tulip Mania and NFTs is the asset. NFTs aren‘t perishable, the assets will be around well into the future. Thus, as long as the collector doesn’t sell it, the asset can grow back and beyond its price tag over time. That resiliency and ability to ride out market cycles are what makes NFTs different.
